The Bible's Teaching

I was reading the Bible this morning and I prayed as I often do that God would open my eyes to what he has to say. I asked him to help me not to make the Bible say what I wanted it to say, but rather to simply understand what he said and what he wants me to do.

While I was reading and meditating, a question came to my mind and it is what I would like to share: If, as Christians, the Bible told us to offer sacrifices (like sheep) to God, would I do it? If the Bible said to kill all abortion doctors would I do it? Would I be a religious radical if that's what God wanted?

Now, don't misunderstand. The Bible does not call for any of those things. But in our Bible study, we have to be 100% willing to accept what the Bible says. Otherwise, we're just making up our own religion. Some people say the Bible says that Jesus was just a prophet. Some say he didn't raise from the dead. Is it that they really believe this is what it says? Or is it that they have already decided what they believe and are interpreting the Bible? Let us never outsmart God; he is not kind to those who "suppress the truth by their wickedness."
